하나의 큰 머리에서 나온 두개의 얼굴을 가지고 있었어
So they could watch all around them as they talked while they read.
그래서 그들은 모든 주위를 한꺼번에 볼 수 있었고, 읽으면서 동시에 말 할 수 있었지

그 때 그들은 '사랑'에 대해선 아무것도 몰랐어, 사랑의 기원 전이었으니까

그래서 그 때는 세개의 성(性)이 있었는데, 하나는 두 남자가 등이 붙은 것 같은 모양으로
Called the children of the sun. And similar in shape and girth Were the children of the earth.
태양의 아이라고 불렸었지. 지구의 아이 역시 비슷한 모양과 사이즈였는데
They looked like tow girls Rolled up in one.
두 여자가 하나로 합쳐진 모습이었어
And the children of the moon Were like a fork shoved on a spoon.
그리고 달의 아이들은 숫가락에 포그가 겹쳐진 모양으로
They were part sun, part earth Part daughter, part son.
한쪽은 태양, 한쪽은 지구, 즉 한쪽은 딸, 한쪽은 아들이었어

Now the gods grew quite scared of our strength and defiance
어느날 신들은 인간의 힘과 반항성에 꽤나 겁을 먹게 되었지
And Thor said, "I'm gonna kill them all with my hammer, Like I killed the giants."
그 때, 토르가 말했어, "내가 거인족을 죽였던 것 처럼 내 망치로 전부 몰살 시키리라."
And Zeus said, "No, You better let me use my lightening, like scissors,
그러자, 제우스가 말했지, " 아냐, 내게 맡겨. 내가 고래의 발을 자르고 공룡을 잘게 썰어
Like I cut the leg off the whales And dinosaurs into lizards."
도마뱀을 만든 것 처럼 내 번개를 가위처럼 써줄테니까."
Then he grabbed up some bolts and he let out a laugh,
그러더니 벼락을 몇개 집어들고 큰 웃음을 한번 내 뱉고는,
Said, "I'll split them right down the middle. Gonna cut them right up in half."
이렇게 말했어, "딱 중간을 쪼개어 주리라. 정확히 반쪽으로 잘라주리라."
And them storm clouds gathered above into great balls of fire
그리고는 폭풍이 하늘위에 모이더니 거대한 불덩이가 되었어
And then fire shot down From the sky in bolts like shining blades of a knife.
그리고 불이 벼락이 되어 하늘로부터 쏘아졌지, 마치 빛나는 칼날 처럼!
And it ripped Right through the flesh of the children of the sun And the moon And the earth.
그 불이 태양과, 달과, 지구의 아이들의 살을 찢고 뜯어버린거야
And some Indian god sewed the wound up into a hole Pulled it round to our belly
그리고 어떤 인도의 신은, 그 상처를 구멍이 되도록 꿰메어 배쪽으로 당겨서 옮겨 놓았어
To remind us of the price we pay. And Osiris and the gods of the Nile
우리가 치룬 댓가를 언제나 기억할 수 있게 했지. 그리고 오시리스와 나일강의 신들은
Gathered up a big storm to blow a hurricane, to scatter us away,
커다란 폭풍우를 몰고와 태풍을 불게하여 우리를 뿔뿔이 흩어지게 했고,
In a flood of wind and rain, And a sea of tidal waves, To wash us all away,
바람과 비의 폭풍속으로 조수의 파도가 넘치는 바다로 우리를 전부 쓸려 나가게 했어
And if we don't behave they'll cut us down again
또 우리가 까불면 또 한 번 잘라버릴 거라고,
